Ahmedabad | June 15, 2025 — The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (AUDA) has cleared a large-scale afforestation project across 11 garden plots, funded through CSR partnerships and executed via the Miyawaki method. With 1.2 lakh trees to be planted over 99,000 square meters, the project aims to transform green cover in the urban sprawl.
Under this PPP model, local NGOs will not only plant the trees but also maintain them for three years.
This marks one of the largest CSR-driven ecological initiatives in urban Gujarat.
🔍 Will this green initiative become a blueprint for other Indian cities—or fade without follow-through?
